This study involved a comprehensive look at the entire Battle Creek Transit System.
A key element of the study was looking at the city as a clean slate and determining where routes should be
located without consideration to the existing route structure. The study included focus groups with stakeholders,
public meetings, a mail-out survey of local households, and an onboard survey or riders.
Short-, mid-, and long term recommendations were developed. A grant was written and funding approved for one of the
major short-term recommendations, a route serving several employers in a commercial corridor.
