TRANSIT PLANNING STUDY, BATTLE CREEK (MICHIGAN) TRANSIT

This study involved a comprehensive look at the entire Battle Creek Transit System. A key element of the study was looking at the city as a clean slate and determining where routes should be located without consideration to the existing route structure. The study included focus groups with stakeholders, public meetings, a mail-out survey of local households, and an onboard survey or riders. Short-, mid-, and long term recommendations were developed. A grant was written and funding approved for one of the major short-term recommendations, a route serving several employers in a commercial corridor.
