Louisville Waterfront Park & Slugger Field

Project Description

Corradino managed a wide array of environmental issues along Louisville's Ohio River waterfront. Most of the properties within the project area were served by old rail lines and had been in industrial use since the late 1800's. Corradino's environmental work included site assessments, soil and groundwater investigations, remediation, permitting, worker awareness training, and response to discoveries during of contaminated materials. The project successfully changed the face of the waterfront.

A key component of the Louisville Waterfront Redevelopment is Louisville Slugger Field, a Triple A minor league baseball stadium. Corradino's work included site investigations and development of a risk-based plan for managing the environmental issues at a scrap yard and a former manufacturing gas plant. This project was awarded the USEPA Region IV and the National Phoenix Award for brownfield redevelopment.
