Corradino’s deep roots in airport infrastructure began with one of the most ambitious aviation programs in the country: the $1 billion Louisville Airport Improvement Program (LAIP). Under the visionary leadership of our late founder, Joseph C. Corradino, PE, Corradino served as Program Manager for this transformative initiative beginning in 1988. Over the course of decades, the LAIP reshaped the Louisville International Airport, delivering new parallel runways, a reconstructed airfield built over the existing facility, and critical support for UPS’s $1.1 billion Worldport expansion—the largest private sector investment in Kentucky at the time.

A 3,000-acre public-private redevelopment effort south of the airport, where Corradino coordinated rezoning, environmental mitigation, infrastructure funding, and land acquisition to support UPS’s ground operations. LAIP remains a defining chapter in Corradino’s history—establishing a legacy of engineering excellence, community involvement, and infrastructure that endures.
