Direct Connectivity Between I-95 and I-595
Corradino is the prime CEI consultant for 95 Express Phase 3C, a $457 million project in Broward County that expands the region’s express lane network and delivers vital new connectivity between I-95 and I-595. This corridor is one of South Florida’s most congested—and this project is a cornerstone in easing traffic, improving safety, and enhancing multimodal mobility.
A key feature of this project is the construction of four new direct-connect ramps that link the I-95 Express Lanes with the I-595 Express Lanes, providing seamless access to and from the west. These critical connectors reduce weaving, streamline regional travel, and improve operational efficiency across the network.
CEI Highlights:
-Direct Connectors: Oversight of four new flyover ramps between I-95 and I-595 Express Lanes—dramatically improving regional mobility and reducing bottlenecks.
-Express Lane Expansion: Construction of one additional Express Lane in each direction along I-95, resulting in two Express Lanes from Stirling Road to Broward Boulevard.
-Bridge & Interchange Work: CEI supervision of 18 new or widened bridges, including reconstruction of the westbound SR 84 bridge over I-95 and modifications to the I-95/SR 84 interchange.
-I-595 Enhancements: Widening and resurfacing of I-595 from SR 7 to I-95 to support the new ramp connections and added capacity.
-Traffic & Safety Coordination: Advanced maintenance of traffic (MOT) strategies to minimize impacts during construction in one of Florida’s busiest highway corridors.
-ITS & Tolling Integration: Inspection of Intelligent Transportation Systems and tolling infrastructure to ensure operational readiness and traveler benefits.
-Community Outreach & Public Engagement: Spearheading community outreach efforts to keep the public informed and minimize project impacts.
95 Express Phase 3 – Public Outreach
Corradino led the PIO strategy for the $1B I-95 Express Phase 3 expansion, covering over 20 miles across five major construction segments in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Our team coordinated daily communications, facilitated media inquiries, and provided real-time traffic impact updates for the public as new express lanes, bridges, ramps, and direct connections were built. We supported FDOT with stakeholder briefings, public engagement events, and the production of bilingual materials to ensure equity in communication across the area’s diverse communities.
