Florida's First Public-Private Partnership
Corradino served as the CEI for the I-595 Express Corridor Improvements Project, Florida's inaugural P3 transportation venture. This $1.2 billion project involved reconstructing the I-595 mainline, introducing three reversible express lanes, and upgrading associated frontage roads and ramps from the I-75/Sawgrass Expressway interchange. Divided into five work zones to minimize public impact, the project exemplified innovative traffic management, emergency access strategies, and meaningful public engagement.
In addition to CEI services, Corradino provided community outreach and public information services—ensuring timely updates, transparency, and responsiveness throughout construction. These efforts played a vital role in minimizing public impact and strengthening agency and community engagement.
CEI Highlights:
- -P3 Oversight: Monitored the concessionaire's progress and quality, ensuring adherence to FDOT standards.
- -Risk Management: Utilized custom audit checklists to analyze and mitigate risks, safeguarding financial investments.
- -Quality Assurance: Ensured construction met rigorous quality benchmarks through comprehensive inspection protocols.
- -Public Outreach & Communications: Delivered comprehensive community outreach and public information services to keep residents, businesses, and commuters informed throughout construction—minimizing public impact and strengthening agency and community engagement.
I-595 Express Lanes - Public Engagement
Corradino served as the public information lead on Florida’s first public-private partnership (P3) for transportation infrastructure. As three reversible express lanes were built in the median of I-595, we delivered consistent construction updates, managed crisis communications, and oversaw business owner coordination during complex ramp closures and traffic shifts. Our efforts helped educate the public on this new tolling model and minimized disruptions during one of the state’s most innovative mobility upgrades.
